Girls Fishing ?

Hello Everyone!
Just wondering why everyone that i talk to think its so bad that girls fish?
What is so wrong with it ??
I was even accused on one site of making a fake profile pretending to be a girl cause "girls cant fish"
They accused me of being a man hhaa..
Makes me laugh, it sucks when people don't approve of the things you do :/

well half your luck if you like fishing. it shouldnt matter gender if you enjoy it do it. if im not mistaken that would be a baitcaster you are using and i would tyhink that alot of blokes dont know how to use one like yourself so jealousy is probably high on there list. bugger them if they have a prob thats thier fault. tight lines keep fishing

i can see your mate predicament. i wont take Sandy to a tackle store too often as we end up with a lot more than we went in to get. not so much lately as we dont get out for a fish but the $ have built up and a trip to a store for our trip north is on the cards

I had a man tease me down at Mandurah recently because 1)I was using a short trace 2)I came from Perth 3)I was catching more tailor than him (1 - 8) . He didnt actually mention anything about me being a girl but the reality is I wouldnt have cared if he put that in there too. I was catching fish and I was happy

I battle to beat the finesse shown by the Mrs.
When we lived in Bouvard we often went to the cut for tailor. Now have to clarify. She was Taught to fish so that she wont upset the "blokes" by her late husband when fishing in busy locations like the moles etc. She can cast a sinker into a bucket from 50m away consitently. If she misses its by a meter or 2 and rarely more. This is more distance and direction accurate than me, and I have fished since I was 5, ie many years.
To top this off she outfished all locals at The Cut, and because she just wears all her gold etc when fishing earned the nickname "Queen of the Cut" before I had met her. So when I met her I thought "No way is a chick gonna beat me at my game". When it comes to tailor I have well and truely met my match.
Moved up to Kcity and into bigger things, which initially "frightened" her with power and speed. Hence I outfished her initially. Not the case now.
Some observations: 1. Strikes are more finesse, I think fast and yet gentle.
2. More patient with a fish biting, ie dont panic and rush it
3. Persistent and patient getting a fish in. It is more gentle than blokes I have seen. We tend to pump like mad when we get the chance, keep the line very tightly connected rather than connected, and I am sure more hooks are pulled.
4. Stick to a proven winner. I have tried to introduce her to various techniques. Jigs, Plastics, Poppers/stickies, Fly etc, but she falls back to the tried and trusted, and contrary to what I believe, bait appears best for general fishing. Targetting species like I try some methods are better, eg Plackies for Coral trout, but bait vs poppers vs spanglies its even or bait.
Overall IMO there is a place and respected for woman that love fishing. I certainly wont tell Jenny Gates that she cant fish, and as some are aware she often outfish very good males in comps. Each to their own because I dont like wimpering woman with sayings like that bait stinks, yuk, or Ill get may hands dirty. If thats the case get off my boat. If you are on there pull your weight, bait your rig, unhook your own fish (unless its a nasty bitey - I get all those, but without I girly wimper) and generally act as a deckie. Then you can say you are a fisherperson, like anyone else.
Plus male/female sexist banterring is great fun on the boat, and beats the macho upsmanship hands down.
