Scientists have caught on film what is believed to be the world's first
sighting of the backwards-swimming, giant "serpent" oarfish alive in
its natural habitat.
That's quite some statement considering there are a number of videos of swimming oarfish on youtube, one of a diver actually patting one, from back in 2006.
Apart from that, it certainly goes a long way towards explaining old serpent folktales.
