I don't think you should have any problem, providing, it has not been caused by abuse of the coupling when trying to get them to lock into place.

Will wait and watch.

Rang HO this morning to find out what was happening. Was told it was sent back to the boat shop who then returned it to them because now it has a smashed screen. They didn't bother to tell me though. All are ducking for cover and I am stuck in the middle with a sounder that has been repaired and re repaired, no sounder or fishing for me. Turning into a night mare. Waste of 2 weeks leave

It's situations like this that can help those about to make a purchase think long and hard about just where you are going to spend your hard earned cash.

I know this is not helping you in the present situation, however hopefully it turns out ok for you and those who are dealing with your warranty claim see that by "doing the right thing" there is far more to gain than to loose with the word of mouth daily.

 the final result was furuno decided to give me a new sounder as mine was a basket case due to a heavy object smashing the casing and screen while in transit. They were very helpful and up front.  The boat shop however was a different story.  Thy had no intentions of even telling me about the damage and really did not want to know about it. They flatly refused to replace it and expected me to take it back after having suffered significant impact damage resulting in who knows how many others issues.  im sure we have ALL been to this shop but after making a dogs breakfast of the initial install leaving all my electronics not working and having to be returned to be redone I swear I will never let those muppets near my boat again
