HS , the point simply represent your activity on the posts, as far as I am aware. You will find that the more you participate in threads and the more threads you commence, your points will grow. I do stand to be corrected!! Im guessing it's a quick reference thing, you can generally get an idea about how active a member is when you look at a points telly and take into account how long they have been a member of the site.
