Fish ID help - no pic sorry

Morning Everyone,

Got up for an early morning walk on Saturday waiting for the wife and in-laws to get down to the boat. Walking along beside the rocks at Mandurah Marina there were a number of leather jackets (nice sizes too) tooling idly past. Stopping to watch for a bit I noticed a flash of colour in closer, within the rocks.

Positioning myself a little better there were two fish in between the rocks.

For want of a better description they both had a shape like a mangrove jack / emporers, were blueish in colour, with black vertical stripes. Taking into account the magnification of the water they would have been around 20 cm long, if not a shade longer.

Yes, I had partaken of a couple of beers the night before..... but am pretty certain I wasn't seeing things.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I couldn't clearly see that. Mind you, I wasn't really looking at the lips. I was still working out that yes, it was blue.

Planning to spend Saturday Morning down there again on the hope that they are habitual...
