The best snd cheapest do not go hand in hand. Personally the 2 best are dolphin dive in welshpool and better for you chriso at divetub

 SSI (scuba schools

SSI (scuba schools international) will recognise the old NASDS cert that Perth dive academy used to issue.

As long as you have some paperwork (logbook preferred) it's easily done. I originally did my course in 1996 at PDA and SSI issued me a current cert 12 months ago.

my problem now will be finding log book etc - but good to know. Have been thinking for a while about finding out if there was a new bridgjng style course to meet current standards, another part of me thinks, I might as well just do another full course, given that it has been a long while since I strapped a tank on. Thanks again.

Dolphin dive are good. Did mine through these guys. Bought some second hand scuba gear from gumtree and gave them a call for advice/suggestions on purchasing etc- they were pretty helpful. Although these are in Freo..

Australaisan diving academy, I did mine in rockingham two years ago and they were brilliant, I'm sure their nedlands opperations would be just as good.
