ali box
i wouldnt bother with ali just make it out of marine ply! easier to work with or modify when you change your mind! once its made a bit of marine carpet and glue and its sweet! i used to run a delkor n70 marine battery in my dingy and just had the trickle charger from the outboard worked a treat and i ran all of what you have said plus a spotlight and heaps of deck lighting before leds came out!
ALL FISHERMEN ARE LIARS EXCEPT YOU AND ME! AND IM NOT SO SURE ABOUT YOU!

G'day Andy, On my tinny I run
G'day Andy,
On my tinny I run a LowranceGPS/FF, led nav lights and led rope inside the gunnels. I forget the battery I run but it cost $75 from battery world and the staff were very knowledgeable. It is a deep cycle so is designed to run flat and charge again. I actually bought 2 batteries and have never used the "spare". I bought 2 thinking of safety and as the batteries are 130mmdeepx100mmwide and 80mmhigh I have no issues with space or weight. I always alternate between them on each trip and always have them both in the boat.
So your best way of finding out what size battery you need is to first try and recognise exactly all the equipment you will be running as this combined is the information the staff will need to provide you with the best battery for boat.
Good luck out there

I have recently bought a
I have recently bought a 20AH powersonic and run the same gear as you are expecting to use. I head out 4 or 5 times for 8 hours plus and only just need to recharge. I suggest staying away from battery power too, with their prices you would think they are selling rocket fuel! Try a battery wholesaler, someone who isn't paying overheads. Oh and definitely buy deep cycle
Let em go, let em GROW!

mate boats are like chicks,
mate boats are like chicks, never think u 've had the last one or be scared to get another or even have more than 1
as for battery depends on how big a sounder /what type of lights (led uses hardly anything)
does your outboard have an alternator/charging circuit?
if so a much smaller battery can be used
make sure u get a sealed battery

thanks for the advice, got some thinking to do, but i will be running led nav lights and all round light, as for fish finder/ gps i was thinking a hds 5 or somethink around that range that has side scan, but still looking for a good alli welder as i need to put a anchor well in the front of the boat to make life easy. but looks like im going to go with the marine ply for the box
cheers
