Submitted by fishmark on Wed, 2010-12-15 20:28
Hi all , hit cockburn sound today for some crabs was a bit hit and miss, tried a few spots and got our 20 crabs in 3 hrs , all females except one ,few with eggs went back and some undersize but hardly had to use the gauge, biggest weight was 460 grams , the wind came in about 1230 so we packed up and went home to cook up a juicy feed of crabs

Yup old farts favourite
steamed crab meat, fresh bread or roll and vinegar with pepper, he slaps the two slices of bread together and he's in heaven, all I hear is this moaning coming out of his full mouth, orgasmic to say the least hahahah.

A huge hawl of crabs there. Nothing like picking your way through some crabs with a few beers as you watch the cricket.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

Too true. I'm hoping to get a few down Mandurah way this weekend. Hopefully I can get a feed and do just that. I just hope the Aussies can put up a bit of a fight? Siddle and Johnson are doing that at the moment though.
I fish for the future - Cause I can't bloody catch anything!

Looks like a great haul.
Looks like a great haul. Gotta love a fresh feed of blue mannas. (if only we had muddies here too).
Whats people opinions of them in the Swan at the moment? (dredging, numbers, sizes?). Bit of fun chasing them on a warm night snorkelling around for them. Not sure if i'm game to try it in the sound yet, but will try one of the beaches down south again this year.

Hi Fishmark
How deep we're you crabbing? Have they moved out of the deep water onto the weed banks yet?
Cheers

my advice for crabbing is try everythink we picked them up deep and realy shallow hit and miss like i said just try a spot and see if u pull 10 nets for zero move they dont like that cloudy shit coming out of the swan will be better when that settles and yeah another month they will be better .
