Collie river shark

Talking to a mate at a pissup last night and he showed me a photo he had on his phone. He lives in in Clifton park and the back of his house backs on to the Collie river and the photo was of a dead shark on the bank of the river at the back of his house.
Some body had seen the photo on facebook or some such thing and recognised his house and sent him the pic.
Wondering if any body knows the story behind this. It was apparently a bull shark and to my old alcohol affected eyes it looked about 1.5 to 2m long.

No surprise

It comes as no surprise to find one up there.
A mate and I were fishing many many years ago at the junction of the Collie and Brunswick rivers at the back of Australind and got snapped off a couple of time before hooking then losing a bull shark when trying to grab its tail because we had no gaff with us in the dinghy.

Used to see lots of them at the hot waters behind the Bunbury power station before the inner harbour was built

I'm amazed no bulls caught in Mandurah

I have not heard of any creditable stories of any one catching a bull shark in the Mandurah estuary system.

Utterly destroyed the net (wire bottom type) mind you he thrashed around for a good five minutes before getting free - we stood well clear and watched - it was a good one too

There was an article in the paper I saw, apparently it went 1.8m!

always hearing stories of bulls in the collie river and never doubted them but it's always interesting to see it backed up with some evidence.
