catch and release

the best way to be able to release fish successfully especially Dhuies is to bring them up nice and slowly.

in the past I have had good results releasing without a release weight,if you know its small and bring it up slow and let it sit under the boat for a while it will go back down. I've caught them in up to 50m,had know it work because of the number of tagged dhuies that were recaptured
all I'm saying is why use a release weight if you don't need to.
Fast fish rule!

Quicker

We always have one rigged up ready to go (release weight that is). Getting them down quicker saves them the stress of swimming down into the waiting jaws of a predator. (imho)
I also make sure deckies slow down their retrieve to allow the fish to self vent, which generally happens about 10m under the boat. They go back much stronger if you can do that.
