bow rails

i have painted bow rails on my rig that are getting badly chipped. apart from sanding back and having bare rails does anyone have any tips on what i can put on them to protect against , anchor chain or line or sinkers rubbing on them , i have seen plastic tube etc that can be wrapped around

Clear "beverage tube" from
Clear "beverage tube" from BCF, slice it lengthways and secure it with cable ties. I had it on the old boat, but with this one, I went with bare ally ;-)

those clear plastic hosees
those clear plastic hosees can be purchased from a lot of hardware stores. you dont need to spend extra $ from a fishing store to get them. i have seen it done and they do look good but you do need to temove them from time to time to gige the rail and hose a good clean as they get quite grotty over the time
