Boat/ land based swoffing at Onslow

As a few of you might know, a special select of anglers are making a trip to Onslow in 16 days.Cool I have an aray of gear and am always keen to try new stuff. I have swoffed in the SW of our state but am wondering if anyone has swoffed  around the Onslow region?

Any suggestions or help/ideas would be sweet as, Cheers Etak roadie

If you are heading out to the islands try around the sand spits on the incoming tides, heaps of little to mid class trevs and queenies, just your typical clousers, deceivers and pink things are the go.
Have a good trip.

G'Day Maxy,

Water is clearing up really nicely in Beadon Creek. Kids from school have been pulling some small queenies, jacks, trevs and doggy mackerel off the end of the Beadon Rock Groyne at the turn of the high tide. Good spot to get a decent backcast as well.;)

BJ, I think hooking into some fish on the wand will be as good as bottom fishing, probably better if there's fish around........Maxy.......

I recon queenies would be a lot of fun on a fly.

my fly rod is a 6-7 weight Trout rod! I have a bit of dacron backing on the old Olympus fly reel(Ali), bring it with ya. You prob. won't find a better place to try it out than on queenies etc in Onslow. Make sure you get some clouser flies or some shrimp immotations or some acrylic stytle minnow flies, something salty looking.

Hlokk, if that's what you want, No probs BUT I haven't reached master status yet. On going learning process. All you have to remember is to present the fly/lure as best as you can. It's probably a bit easier swoffing for saltwater fish (especially up there) cause all you have to do is be able to strip fast with some pauses in between.........Maxy.......
