what type of fishing hooks are best. I have tried ganged hooks and single hooks. What type of single hooks are best for fish such as tailor or mulloway.

Jayden is actually spot on
Jayden is actually spot on what ever you use a sharp hook of the wrong type will often be better than a blunt one of the right type (to an extent). Whatever you use but sure its always sharp.
Circle hooks for bait and a livebait hook if using livies for my mind.

Mustad
From my experience the gutsiest hooks being great value for money are Mustad. I Use them for all species big and small. In particular the small long shank sizes have incredible strength when pulled by a fish (or Rays!). Not so great when be shaken by pliers!
