Back In Oz - What A Blast

Sandra and I have returned from our 13 day Cruise aboard the Pacific Sun. We need a holiday from our holiday! It was my first cruise and certianly not my last for sure. We had an abolsute blast and met a lot of great people and made some wonderful new friends (I have a lot of emails to send off!).

13 days and nights of non stop partying, entertainment, site seeing and LOTS and LOTS of drinking - EEE GADS!

Most of the crew were fantastic (there'll always be a few bad apples) and we had fun in abundance.

Will endeavour to post a few pics later when I've loaded up the 8 gig of photos and videos LOL.

And yes, I succumbed to the gastro like virus and was quarantined in my cabin for 48 hours, with the first 12 hours being the most horndous gastro experience of my life.

Depite that, it was a GREAT cruise and an absolute blast!

Certainly learned a lot from my first cruise!

I am glad you and Sandra had a great trip. I had heard some worrying reports from some people who I think were on the same cruise.

Yeah Col - Whingers

Yeah Col mate, it was a fantastic experience and a hoot of a time - I'd recommend it to anyone. But like everything, you have to go in with the right attitude and determination to have a great time. After all, you've spent a lot of money to be there and it's NOT the crew's fault that the virus was there. I had both the virus AND a heavy head cold, was detained in my cabin for 48 hours on the former (or at least what was left of me was LOL) and am still bogged down with the latter (head cold), but that didn't stop me partying and having a great time! I'm not saying the people that you know are the whingers, but fair dinkum some people expected the impossible.

On the line bit, I was sorely tempted mate Tongue out

water from those big boats. The blokes who I heard about were a bit cheesed off because they had booked a few onshore activities in Bali and Christmas Island which were cancelled.

Cancelled Cruises Col

Ah! Yes, now THAT was a bit suss. We were told we couldn't disembark at Xmas island 'due to the swells' - now that MAY have been true, but the swell didn';t really look that bad to me.

Sorry, didn't know DEan was going on a cruise. If it was on the same boat/date/destinations, then I guess we must have been. With 1600 (or so) passengers and all that deck space and floors, easy to miss someone.

Sounds like a great trip

Sounds like a great trip Dreamy, despite the cabin stay.

I was on Xmas Is when they had a 'town meeting' about the coming of the first cruise ship.  Swell was mentioned then, as it is the 'swell' season now.

200 to 3 m deep water over 100 metres can create a nasty situation at the 'lifting dock' - I beleive you would be craned out..like the boat people are (saw this a few times).

Maybe on your next cruise (sounds like ya hooked now).

Cheers Pete

Cheers Pete. Thanks for the clarification/confirmation on the swell, from what you've said, could be legit then.

Started watching some of the DVDs we brought back - so far so good. That's the beauty I suppose of paying (little) for a guide all day between the 3 of us (had a friend with us) - they had the store opened just for us and we were soon told what were 'good' and 'bad' DVDs.
