Another successful evening bash

I couldn't help myself when I looked at the weather over the next few evenings yesterday so made a plan to head out to the same spot that I caught my dhue on Friday. Everything was going the same as Friday other than the wind direction got my burley trail going and enjoyed how dead calm it was kept my slow trickle of mulie cubes going then at almost the same time as Friday one of my rods takes off, I grab it and enjoy a good little tussle all the way up and net it with my repaired bet. I could see it was close but measured it and it was 55cm. Another good feed for the freezer.

Farmers paddock?

Mon, 2020-06-08 20:51

Good going again  but just saying , nows the time to look for other spots , as if you hit your spot too many more times you may fish it out .

Some guys call it farming there spots , as in resting one area whilst you farm others.

Its fun looking and trying different areas , and if you say found 4 or 5 spots , some with a pinkie or two , some  with big skips and the odd dhu and blackarse

then you add to your fishing knowledge and can fish for years .

 I agree with your theory

I agree with your theory completely and have thought about it as I don't really believe these fish are living in this area but possibly grazing in the area with the full moon. I'm pretty confident that these fish aren't in this spot in the day, but I will give it a break now there are plenty of other spots all round the area. I think I have proven to myself that it wasn't a fluke.

dhu flats

Mon, 2020-06-08 21:17

Yep , theres lot of striped guppys caught on dead flat ground with a bit of weed on it , rather than reef ledges or pinnacles.

I also have some cray ground ( 20 plus metres) that has produced some good jumbos , thats mainly flat away from there normal hidey holes and

I think they go grazing at night on that ground that must hold some food ( worms, urchins, marine snails) for them.
