My two suggestions

would be the 6500BCV for the surf or the 650 BERR for the rocks.
Just as a matter of interest, why are you going for an alvey? Don't get me wrong, I have had a few Alveys over the years and they have served me well, but for the price you are looking at for a decent Alvey these days you could get a pretty decent spinning reel or an overhead.

i manly intend chase tailor and mulloway with it. im reparing one of my jarvis walker 13ft beach rods( from when jarvis walker was actually half decent.) my dad has had an estuary champion alvey for over 25 years and its almost dead so im getting a new one beacuse i like the style of it and that it is hard to break.

I use the 6500's off the beach , i like them as they are simple and have a pretty good drag system for the price
