Grats Sam, good to hear you

Grats Sam, good to hear you passed.

I hired a full set of gear from mindive for $50 for the first week (you get one free hire), then $100 per week after that, till I picked up what I needed.

If this bloody wind doesn't let up, we won't be doing any dives =(

Hey Sam, congrats!

Must admit that diving is lots of fun at the moment.

A short day out diving sure beats a long day getting beaten up by the wind and waves, whilst fishing!

Ended up costing me $400...

$345 for the course

$45 for 2 boat dives on the last day (optional)

$10 for the hire of some fins and booties i had my own snorkel n mask, wetsuit was included in the price (obviously if you have your own gear theres no cost involved, otherwise it more the less things you haven't got)

plus $10 more if you want to get a log book (optional) they are recommended though...

Cheers,
Sam

Thu, 2009-01-01 15:24

Hi Sam, I finished mine also with PDA a few months ago.  Still have not been back out since.  I want to go and dive for some crays but the weather has not really been right for when the time was available.  I'm keen to go out over the next couple of weeks, can let you know when I do if your interested?

good on you sam , logbook wise itds good to keep a record as some dive charters will actually guage your logged dives and work out your experience level , but i use the computer and record everything on my hard drive like water temp , clarity things seen , gear faults ect . Would be keen to do a few 20 metre dives when you get a few in your book definatly

I wish I had an emo lawn so it would cut it self

Welcome to the underwater

Wed, 2009-02-04 05:28

Welcome to the underwater world Sam.  Don't tell too many how good it is down there....its getting crowded!

Safe diving and the crays a waiting for you.  As said, log ya dives for the first few years as they are needed for interstate charters.  I stopped logging after about 10 books though.

Cheers Pete
