After some help to understand the rules for a boat reg

ive got a 12 foot fibreglass boat no motor on it

does it need to be registered not sure theres a hin ect it looks like it was registered at one stage as there is a rego number on it

if i put a 55lb electric motor on it does it need to be registed i dont planon going miles out to sea and mostly will use it in the river but want to also get to some kg ect that are  a few 100 metrs from shore or beyound casting distance

 Best check with dept of transport - marine division.  There are a number of factors including hull length, horse power and intended use.  I am not sure of the specifics without researching it, but I suspect because of the length and intended use, yes you will need to register it, despite only having an electric motor.

the boat was only $40 a old fiberglass no motor trailer ect just the boat
