Advice required for quick trip away.

Seeking anyones input to where they think would be the best place to catch a feed and camp for a few days, between Jurien and Geraldton-ish? A mate and I are getting a few days off in early August and want to take a quick trip away fishing and as we both live in Mandurah, dont want to spend more than five or six hours getting there. After a bit of contemplating we realize that the area between Jurien and Geraldton would be probably the best bet. The only problem is we dont know where would be best. The weather isn't going to be real flash we acknowledge that, but we're still going! We intend on taking up a small runabout (16ft Voyager with 70HP Johnno) behind the 4x4. Any input would be more than appreciated.

Not sure if they'll still be around in August, but with a boat, theres lots of other great species to get offshore from Jurien.

I read that they were getting them there earlier in the week. Good fun to catch but we are looking for a bit better table fair, and possibly getting out in the boat if it's not too rough. Camped out near some shacks in Knobby Head last year but the exact location eludes me, (Iwas taken in and out in the cover of darkness like a big commando operation) got a good feed of Jewies only about a kilometre offshore in about 15m of water.

means i wouldn't have to tow the boat either, get enough action from the beach and reef there. The only downfall is every time i go to lucky bay or wagoe it's blowing it's ring out.

After seeing the Tailor posts at Chinaman's today I'd be going the extra km's from Gero and hitting those rocks!
