Our side of the story
Submitted by Jody on Wed, 2007-11-21 20:28'So, how is everything going?' enquired God.
'It is all so beautiful, God,' she replied. 'The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking, the smells, the sights, everything is wonderful, but I have just one
problem. It is these breasts you have given me. The middle one pushes the other two out and I am constantly knocking them with my arms, catching them on branches and snagging them on bushes. They are a real pain,' reported Eve.
And Eve went on to tell God that since many other parts of her body came in pairs, such as her limbs, eyes, ears, etc.......she felt that having only two breasts might leave her body more 'symmetrically balanced,' as she put it.
'That is a fair point,' replied God, ' But it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals six breasts, so I figured that you needed only half of those, but I see that you are right. I will fix it up right away.' And God reached down, removed the middle breast and tossed it into the bushes.
Three weeks passed and God once again visited Eve in the Garden of Eden.
'Well, Eve, how is my favourite creation?'
'Just fantastic,' she replied, ' But for one oversight on your part. You see, all the animals are paired off. The ewe has a ram and the cow has her bull. All the animals have a mate except me. I feel so alone.'
God thought for a moment and said, 'You know, Eve, you are right. How could I have overlooked this? You do need a mate and I will immediately create a man from a part of you. Now let's see............where did I put that useless tit?
Now doesn't T H A T make more sense than that crap about the rib?

Looks good
Submitted by Jody on Sun, 2007-11-11 19:32
Heads up all you youngsters.
Borrowed from another site, sure Terry won't mind
All the details and application form from http://www.recfishwest.org.au/MediaStateYoungFutureLeaders.htm
Recfishwest is trying to find some future young leaders (FYL) to help steer rec fishing in the future.
Anybody (under 35) can nominate, and the 15 selected will be taken to the Abrolhos Islands to spend time on a fisheries research vessel dealing with science and compliance, be mentored by experts, and even do a bit of fishing. The aim of the trip is to give the FYL an appreciation of ALL sides of the management debate, and hopefully an insight into what it takes for us all to move forward.
Applications are invited from people anywhere in WA, and your costs will be met.
It's hoped that these FYL will add to the RFAC (regional fishing advisory committees) throughout the state, adding to the effectiveness and diversity of these groups.
contact Recfishwest to nominate.

Any recommendations on what phone I should get (3G, next G, GSM) for best overall coverage, both for around Dampier/Karratha and also for the long drive up to Karratha?

Theft from boats.
Submitted by alfred on Sat, 2007-11-10 19:29I have not used my boat for a few months due to weather, work and commitments and unfortunately it is parked outside on the verge. I was readying the boat for a fish and have discovered that my fire extinguisher, boat hook , gaff, eprib, and life jackets have been stolen.
Yeah yeah, I know, I should not leave these things in my boat, but ........... sigh! Wish the pr*cks would use their own money to buy stuff instead of stealing form someone else.

Advice please - driving from Perth to Karratha
Submitted by dtr on Sun, 2007-11-04 08:47Well, I'm finally headed up to Jay and PilbaraBrad's way at the end of this month.
I'm picking up my new Suzuki Vitara in Perth and will be driving to Karratha.
I haven't driven in over 12 months as I've been living in the UK (London) for the last couple of years.
Any advice that you can give to make the drive safer would be good.
I'm planning on stopping for the night in Carnarvon on the way up.
Mum is going to fly over from Brisbane and share the driving duties.
So what do I need to look out for? Any particular bad stretches? Be off the road before dusk?
Cheers,
Dan.

Hot snapper spots
Submitted by Rodrat on Sat, 2007-11-03 11:28I am heading out for a fish tomorrow (sunday) and am
hoping to pick up a decent fish for a change!
Heading out from point peron and was wondering if anyone had any
ideas as to where a good spot to fish for snapper would be?
I'm not after cordinates or gps spots, just a rough idea.
Do you have to go out far to deeper water or can you pick them up out back of garden island?
Any info would be appreciated.

User Profiles
Submitted by Tim on Thu, 2007-11-01 17:44Hey All.
Was looking at some of the profiles of those who are online and noticed that there are many members who havent filled out any details in their profile at all.
While I understand not everyone wants to advertise all the gear you may have or exactly where you are located, some info in your profile would be good for others to see for various reasons.
It is a helpfull thing for others to access when your asking a question as they can check to see if you are located SOR, NOR, Country, boat or shore based and alter their answer accordingly. Its also a good way for other forum members to get to know more about you rather than just as a name on a website.
If everyone could take the time to enter a few details into their profile or to review it and update as you see fit it would be greatly appreciated by all.
Thanks.

Towing vehicles?
Submitted by jimbo1 on Mon, 2007-10-29 17:16After some feedback as to who uses just a rear wheel drive vehicle to tow there rigs, type of vehicle and size rig/load being towed.
I am in thought of getting a new vehicle and wondering whether I really need to bother with a 4x4 or all wheel drive car and possibly could just go a V8 ute.
My boat is on a braked single axle trailer rated to 1250kg, however not likely to be much over the tonne mark when loaded.
All feed back greatrly apreciated!

sounders???
Submitted by PilbaraBrad on Thu, 2007-10-25 20:41There has been a lot of talk about sounders of late. I have in the past typically fished while looking for the gound i think the fish will be, without the use of a super flash sounder. Keeping in mind i am often only in 1.5 to 2.5 m of water up a creek system. The unit i have on this rig is a basic NAVMAN Fish 4100. With the new rig comming in feb i think it is time to definately learn a little more and seek advice from you guys on which might be best for my aplication. I was origionally going to spend around 700 but now i am thinking up to 12 or 1300 would be ok.
Can anyone reccomend something for barra fishing creek sysems to 2.5 3m at the most. I might do a bit of bottom bashing in winter to 40m but that is about it
cheers
Brad
