KG on crab soft plastic

I've been working on this technique for a while, my next article in November edition of FWA covers off this rig. Worked a treat.

Can't wait until the new FWA Magazine comes out mate, bloody good fish too! Everytime I develope a new style of rigging things and catch fish on it I get so excited. Do you get excited too when that happens, Andy Mac?

My reels screaming zzzzzzz.... awwww damn it, its another boat!

All the best for the future fishing trips.

Just ask Kasey. It was on the first drop using the rig, as I was explaining the rig to Kasy and what I was targetting, the bloody thing went off!!

I love it when a plan comes together.

Caught a couple of SB's on it after that then lost it to a snag and then switched to jigging, courtesy of Kasey rigging me up properly. Managed another SB on the jig before my old bones started getting tired.

Looks like I am going to have to start using the home gym a bit more if I want to nail a fish like Kasey did.

Cheers

There's a clue!

Quote from Mr. Andy Mac:  "Looks like I am going to have to start using the home gym a bit more if I want to nail a fish like Kasey did".

Well theres a clue in there and I think the clue is:

1) Its big
2) A fish of some some kind

But still bluffed.

Good stuff Kasey and Andy Mac. Loving it how all this commotion is all about a fish! Which we won't see in ages...

LIndsay,

This is a pic of the rig we were discussing. I recently bought a big pack of small white jig heads of similar size. They seem to work well.

Have you had problems being busted off yet andy?  Fished with a KG rig similar and something decent took it and rubbed me off with the leader being 40lb, fishing in 40m on coral patches.

Yep

A couple of bust offs but it accounted for quite a few fish when I fished with Tim a few weeks back and importantly didn't stop me getting two Dhuies either, so as a by-catch rig I am very happy with it.

Cheers

Good Article

G'Day Andy

I really enjoyed that article, and love the jig head / p.crab combination as a bycatch trace.

Something else to try - too much gear to acquire, too many techniques - not enough days.

Yeah pretty sure I got a decent dhuie on (the sucking action) then line peeled of and snap. So made some up with 100lb supple trace which should stop them!
