first off.. nice fish, and photo. but on another note, mate, i am sure many other forumites are biting their tongue's... but you shouldnt handle a sambo like that ( assuming you released it as they are to risky to kill and eat with the parasite they sometimes carry )... but holding all its weight on a gill cover, you are causing huge amounts of damage to the fish.... busting capilaries and gill membranes etc... not good dude ( imagine somebody picking you up by your top lip!!! not nice hey!!)... and doesnt get viewed well on other sites either...maybe check out some of the other poses with sambo's on this site ( like shags sambo caught on the same weekend), to see better ways of handling them... try craddleing the body with one hand/arm, and the head with the other instead of a jaw/gill hold..
dont think of this as a attack mate, just some friendly advice from one fisho to another....
Cheers Luke for your comments, to be honest we didnt even think of it at the time as there were sambo's following this one up. All we wanted to do was hook up again and decided on a quick pic before release. By the way the fish was very worn out by the battle and we had to motor the big bruiser boatside to get enough kick before release. I take your comments on board as I am usaully a much more conseravtive fisherman with fish I am going to release.
