Double uni knot (tying mainline to leader)

[img_assist|fid=78150|thumb=1|alt=Fishyink - Double uni Knot|caption=I drew this hope u can understand the diagrame but this knot is good for joining 2 bits of line together wether its braid to mono, mono to mono or braid to braid. simple knot if u ask me, i use it mainly to tye my leader on when fishing with lures or braid.]

suppose step 4 is to pull the tags then the mainline and leader tight

great knot fishyink!
i use this knot on all my rigs 80lbs braid to my leader.
never had one break yet, those sambos will test any knot.

there is some think else that i do to finish the knot, at the end of the mono (were its trimmed off)i get my soldering iron and half way down(not to hot) i just melt the end over just like a mushroom this stops the mono pulling throw and keeps the knot neat and from getting caught in your level winder guide. some think i learn't last year.
great knot!!!

Pretty Good Jay

I have used it for a wind on leader when fishing up at exmouth. I think you will see it slip through the guides in one of the exmouth vids I posted, when I catch the little tuna on my big 15-24kg outfit. I still let it peel off some line for a bit of fun.

I am sure one of the game fishing guys will give you a better knot to use, but I found it worked well joining my 50lb braid to 100lb jinkai wind on leader. Though nothing massive tested it out I must admit.

Cheers

the knot aint to bad on the

the knot aint to bad on the eyes when using heavier rods, i dont put that long of a leader on lite gear bout 40cm leader so dont need to wind through the eyes. but it doesnt catch on your guides, if u are after a more of a lure casting knot that the knot runs through the guides lots i recomend the allbright knot easy on the guides.
