RST assessment

Bit of a plug , Did my rst today with Bill Muir at Matilda Bay in the city . Very educated man took from 9 am till 12.30 and he onlt takes 5 people at a time . He even does assesments on your boat if you want and can fit the assesment into any time frame if needed and also different locations

was $200 luke and better than the generic 2 day courses , comments awere made on how long till the skippers ticket becomes an annual license hmmmm not a once off payment

lol... and that was one thing promised that wouldnt happen!!! imagine the outcry!!! doesnt really bother me if thats the case.... so long as the money goes towards boating and fisheries... in the form of research, ramp maintenance etc....
still...seems yet again, failure to deliver from the gov of that time....

Yeah, you know it's gonna happen. Just like Worksafe tickets (forklift, crane, cherry picker etc)...they used to be "one-off" as well, now they're up for renewal every 5 years, $45 each time

Sounds like you picked the right guy Feral.
Yeah, I personally think the powers that be wanted to soften the blow of the RST when introduced by 'promising' it will be a once off fee. I'd be VERY suprised indeed if that didn't turn into an annual licence fee within the next few years.
