got a few reds this year . they were all fat f$#kers..one thing was wierd ,hardly any grinners came up .compared to the last couple of years .
hope the fishing pressure isnt stuffing the balance !!!!!!

was in 110m of water on the charter.i picked it for a red about half way up .gave the young [part time] deckie the call to get the gaff ready. he had about 4 swipes at it before he finaly pinned it in the guts and yep he certainly needs some practice
always in it just the depth that varies

As you say, the deckie needs some practice with that gaff. Maybe he should have an enviro net instead - at least for fish around that size anyway.
