Load times for pages
Submitted by Maverick on Sun, 2008-06-22 21:07.
Hey does anyone else have long load times this is really getting to me ,
I am waiting between 10 and 25 seconds for pages to load ,
even when I just hit the back button to go to the last page shown.
It's starting to really do my head in.

No Mav
Very occasionally I get time outs, otherwise pages load almost instantly, and I only have 256K down.

Only here for me
Only here for me , and it happens every time .
I go to the recent posts page and just scoll down to see whats what and only click on something I want to read , I use to read everything and look at all the pics , I havn't looked at a pic for weeks and only read about 5 topics , I Don't get it from any other site , and I'm on 1.5 mb download speed.
And my computer IS the fastest you can get , I only got it built a couple of months ago and had to wait for the latest parts to get shipped in .

Mav - yes westnet
Yes Mav, I'm with Westnet too; and, as I said, with a much slower download speed. That you are fine with downloading other site content makes me wonder if it's your browser settings compatability with the software of this sight? Just a guess mind you.
I know there's a QLD fishing site where a chap posted changes to FF to 'multi-stream' - it made a huge difference to loading that site (don't go in there much after I found FR
). I think I posted it (the changes) here - can post the link if you like, or copy and paste the changes? See if that helps?

No Probs
After recently moving & finding out I had no ADSL access, I've had to change to wireless bb, although my load time are obviously longer than my 1.5mb/s adsl+2, I'm surprised how quick it is.
Using Firefox as my browser & my service is provided by 3.

I am with Amnet adsl+2 but
I am with Amnet adsl+2 but sync at around 8mb and have no problems.
I use firefox and just go through latest comments and open them all up at once into other tabs.
This way if a page does take a bit longer to load it has by the time I get to read it.

Your computer speed has very little bearing on your Internet page loading. Most computers are very much faster than the Internet by a long shot so you have a bottle neck.
Wireless is slighlty slower than a network cable connection when you maybe on the same plan.
Have you got your Internet speed back again Mav?

Only prob I get is
when I log on to fishwreck I always get a "sorry to be the one to tell you, mate but you dont have authorised access to this page" etc
so I click on forums & everything is sweet!
I`d rather be fishin`!!!

Suggest you have that page (URL) saved in your favourites/bookmarks as the Fishwrecked site. Just go back to the home page and resave (overwite) it.
