Yamaha command link gateway

Has anyone been successful connecting their multi function display to the Yamaha command link bus without the Yamaha command link nmea2000 gateway.  By the time you buy the Yamaha gateway and required leads its $500 odd seems way over priced for what is probably a switch device for the nmea 2000 backbone  Have heard mixed info that it can be done using the Lowrance lead but the 12v needs to be isolated by either cutting the power wires or using a isolation tee on the backbone.

thanks

There was a thread about this on THT that I think may be useful for you. I think this enables a direct connect to the NMEA2000 port on your head unit.

I connected my 2007 F150s to my Garmins via my existing NMEA 2K network. Works a treat, especially for fuel management.

I used this cable.

Because your Yamaha network is powered and so is your NMEA you should isolate one power supply. I used this Isolator Tee.

Just bumping up an old thread but have just connected my 250hp Yammy up to the nmea network,

The network sees it but Im not getting fuel burn and some other data. I know its there as the yammy gauges are showing it

Anyone else had this issue?
