 It's behind Holden sort of.

I got a Phrophecy 135 at Xmas. Budget was a big issue. They had a special on it, $800 ......... I find it remarkably stable, paddles fast, is on the limit of weight accepatbilitty (28kg) - plus cost of other shit you put on it. Add to the price of a kayak $120 for vest, $150 for sounder and batt, and another $100 for rod holders etc.

Look in the gumtree ads, aim for a four meter unit. Narrow is fast, not too much power to row, wide is slow Needs a lot of power to row.

Stability comes with skill and conditions.

how much are you planning to spend? have a look on gumtree some great bargains there. there always seems to be a few ocean kayak prowlers like the 4.5 for around $600 great yaks can't really go wrong. add a cheap sounder and some rotating rod holders and you've got a budget fishing weapon :-) iv got a malibu stealth 12 great yak but i payed 2k from memory all set up but if i was on a budget i'd get a prowler second hand.
