no brilliant specials, but a little birdy did tell me that the Furuno stand of Taylor Marine can do awesome deals if you have cash, especially close to closing time Sunday.
In general nothing to scream about, the new big whittney is nice, the most of the stuff we all seen before, some twin out-board rigs being shown for a change and the Grady Whites where worth a drool.

I got some ok specials on some marine electronics from a reputable dealer.
Only one stall selling fishing gear, and on that stall, only really the lumo squids being really cheap - $12/20.
Some nice looking boats I couldn't afford but that isn't unusual! Was good to spot a few familiar faces; Alfred, Diji, Ozlobster & pal and a few wangler posters.
Ok , so i walked in with a few g's in the wallet chasing a 585 , first stop the furuno stand asked for a price and the answer was " Sorry mate i dont know anything about the sounders , come back later" but had a look at the new max sea program s, which seemed a bit of a downer compared to the older version and he still couldn't say a price . Next stop i think it was all boats where i sat and waited while the guru on the stand talked about his recent fishing trip to another person from the stand across the road , ten minutes later still couldn't get any service so we kept walking , next stand chivers where we stood for another ten minutes while the bloke selling the gear stood chatting up one of the display chicks from another stand, still no attention , so a few un pleasantries were said . The lumo squid were a bargain and got a few of them as well as a few new 80 g and 200 g octa jigs for a bit of a trial on the weekend . Next stop was the chrovac stand where i purchased a machine and tried it tonight , definatly worth it . Apart from getting a few new ideas on refitting my boat i was totally diappointed as it seemed just a big chatting session for all the different boat companies and only a few people interested in selling stuff .
Rang around during the week and got a few prices on a furuno 620 and managed to get it $150 cheaper at the show so i'm happy. Also got one of the cheap wetties so after 25 yrs since i last had a dive i'll see this summer if i can still do it . lol. I found most of the sales ppl to be friendly enough.
Might get a chance to pop in this morning before heading off to DoF.
What's the deal with the tickets, The latest Club Marine mag said you only go in for a prize draw (would love a Hobby ) if you don't buy the tickets at the entrance (via other outlets)?

yeah was not even impressed with the usual to be expected brolly-dollies on the boats. OR lack of them this year.
I think this is a dead show for me, and just Mandurah will be the go for future.
As for electronics, the new Furuno super-sounder FCV 1150 is the bloody have to have for the Chrissy want list.
Christo is the boffin on them, so the other guys are not quite up to his know-how yet, as the unit is less than a month in the market!!!
ps, now to find something to locate fish off the beach as the weekends single whitting was not flash enough to feed the family!!! :(

Furuno has a specially made
Furuno has a specially made 1kw transom mount tranny bracket, that was hot off the production line. Very nice and neat.
Show was smaller this year, but I went anyway, just had to stop in to see "my" boat! LOL!
The 10 year EPRIBS were selling for $439 and I was tempted.

Great show if you want to
Great show if you want to buy a new boat, but not very flash if you want fishing gear or boat accessories.
