transducer failure

hey guys ive got a problem with my transducer, it has stopped working but it still reads temperature and doesnt give out a bottom reading or depth now the model is a garmin 178c gps sounder combo, i was just wondering if the transducer itself can be fixed or should i buy a new one or if anyone can reccomend somewhere to take it to get it looked at. it is only about 3 years old and gets little use, thanks for any info

firstly , it might not b the
firstly , it might not b the transducer iif iit is still picking up the temp. maybe have a look at the connection points to the back of the unit, if thats ok i would take it somewhere to get it looked at before you spend the $ to get a new transducer.
