Trailer brake wiring

Ran two seperate lines for trailer lights. Kept all terminations for trailer brakes and side lights/lights in waterproofish box. Will also fill with sensor or something maybe. See how it goes. Might not be any better than the normal solder and dual core heat shrink. But time will tell.
it's not finished in second photo I just jammed it all in there before I left

check out...
'Boot lace terminals'.... they are a sleeve that is crimped over the bare wire before putting under a screw terminal.
You get a much more reliable connection.

Im far from an expert but that glued dual wall heatshrink is not that great, definitely not waterproof as the glue just separates. I've heard those bootlace terminals called something else as I was looking into them for my boat but didn't bother.
I used that di electric grease and also the soft seal that was reccomended on here. Love that stuff!

Ferrules
Bootlace pins are often known as ferrules. Do yourself a favour and do a drawing of the wiring and laminate it and put it in the box.. I find lanolin spray great for boat wiring.

Cheers, I will look into it for the connections to the lights, the ones in box should be ok. Think I've seen those bootlace ones... do they have a goo inside them that snaps shut?

CRC product 'Soft Seal' or
CRC product 'Soft Seal' or the 'Battery terminal Sealant' absolutely paramount in the junction box, small amount of silicone on all mounting holes, back off the glands and pump silicone in there too then retighten and ensure the IP weather seal is in the correct way on the lid. I got 10+ years out of my Preston Craft trailer wiring doing this. (Of course make sure it all works before spraying the Soft Seal around - pretty sticky once applied!)
