Plenty of better and more
Plenty of better and more expensive rods but I assume u are looking around the $200ish mark.
for a little bit more I'd be looking at the JM ocean devil.
Edit: just pushed save and saw you have $400 budget (missed it first)
the JM ocean god in black ...I think PE 1.5 -4 would suit but is the top of $ range

Smith amj medium
Look around should be able to find one close to budget - failing that t curve 200 is pretty safe. Some of the new nano stuff looks nice as well. Really does depend what u want to do with it. Stella 6000 is a pretty flash bit of gear if it's the new one - really wasted on only 30lb. I would think a good 50 lb pe3 would do it justice or at least 50lb tuffline. If just jigging then smiths or jm are great!

Mares Nostrum would be a nice
Mares Nostrum would be a nice choice or move up to a Demon blood or Venom Livefibre, with out blowing budget.

the Wilson venom is an awsome
the Wilson venom is an awsome rod, (I have the PE 3-8 )but I only use it for North fishing with a bigger stella than that on it with minimum 50lb. (it's a light but ridiculously powerful parabolic rod.)
would recommend it but not with 30lb line though

JM Ocean Devil. Spool The
JM Ocean Devil. Spool The reel with PE3.
Your Best bet is to head into either Oceanside Tackle if your south of the river or Tackle HQ if your north. Both really experienced with jigging gear and more than happy to help you get what you are after.
Its good to get advice on here but at the en of the day what is comfortable for some is orrible for others. So you best off having a play with a few rods in the shop with the reel on them.
