Hey all,
Just got myself a nee rod and was looking for some reel options to match,
The rod is a diawa blood demon 702 spin.
Any advice would be great cheers.

where do you start?
Whats the budget first and then what sort of line (its a pe3-5 stick) and what are you chasing.
I would think your chasing a 4500 in Daiwa terms (4000 may be too small?) and really depends on the cash or brand too.
Maybe Saltist 4500, Oceana 4500J or an Opus Plus? Shimano stradics, bio master are good reels and so many others to choose from mate...

I use the Saltist 4500 on my 702 and find it's perfect. I actually have 2 matching outfits, 1 for floating Snapper baits and one for jigging soft Plastics.

Catalina 4000 or 4500
Mate if you dont have a budget then now your talking...
I had a Saragosa 6000 and it was a heavy duty reel and fairly heavy (good though), check the catalinas out if you are in that price range or better still take the rod down to your local and fit it- its the best way to sort it out.
Enjoy bud

The catalinas are a serious reel, but probably don't fish enough for that! Although a trip to exmouth in April, it may come in handy. Plan to take rod dwn to the local but was just after some pros and cons on what everyone else thinks.
Appreciate all the advice will let you know what I go with in a week or two.

Saltiga's
If you can look into the 4000 Catalina- good reel all the new bits and pieces for $699 and run PE3 50lb on it or Hyper Certate from ray and annes is 100 bucks lesss than that...
Lots of options for around 300 bucks or less too mate plus the stuff being sold on this site is a pretty good way to get something of good quality for a good price. I think the new Daiwa Sol has a 4000 size with all the bells and whistles or a Caldia in the same size.
