Ravenswood fishing help

Hi guys,

Its my dads 60th this weekend and we have booked a house on the river in Ravenswood for the whole family.

I have never been in this area and was wondering if there are any crabs or fish in this area this time of year.

I will be taking my boat for a cruise up the river so is it worth taking my crab nets and rods?

Any help would be much appreciated.

probably best bet just to move from one fallen tree to the next one,tie up and chuck a prawn bait for bream.

The old Mandurah crabbers used to say the best crabbing months were the ones ending in"r",september, oct ect.

Put the boat in Saturday

Sun, 2013-07-14 18:51

Put the boat in Saturday morning and had a cruise around.Saw a guy kayak fishing so I stopped and asked how he was doing.

He had just caught a couple of 35cm bream. We had a chat for a while and he showed me some photos of his fish, then he gave me a handfull of plastics that he had been catching bream on that morning.

Went fishing that afternoon and this morning and caught plenty of nice fat bream, all released.

Just like to say thanks again to the guy I was talking to that morning for his tips.

Have to love fishing, where else can you just pull up next to a perfect stranger and they give you information and then give you gear to try?

Overall had a great weekend with the family.
