Overnight at ocean reef marina
Submitted by Ericl on Wed, 2012-08-29 07:10
Hi
Wondering if anyone has overnighted at Ocean Reef Marina
There is a jetty opposite the launch ramps that is probably quite difficult to get to by land
Thinking of tying up there if too bumpy just offshore
Thanks
Eric

Really just checking to see if its considered safe to overnight in the Marina before heading out again Thursday
Wednesday starting late and trying squidding with a light just offshore at night (before maybe coming back to tie up in the Marina)

Beware Hoon/Thieves
I assume you're intending to leave your car/trailer on the carpark? I wouldn't be doing that overnight at Ocean Reef. I've fished late there a few times and there's car loads of kids/hoons turning up at all sorts of hours. Judging from the amount of broken car window glass on the carpark I'd say some of them are not just there for a bit of fun. That car park is very isolated. The cops also cruise through from time to time so they obviously know it's a problem area.
If I overnight I launch from Hillarys and leave my car near the back of the fishing tackle shop area. It's well lit and there are security cameras too.
Cheers,
Smez.

I have done it ,last year with no problem at all.
I launched boat the nicht before the rotnest island swim and left the jetty the folowing morning 4 am as the start time was realy early in front of the Cott hotel.
Just allow for the tidal changes when tying on.
