Next G & The Bank

I was just wondering how do people find telstra Nex G coverage out at the bank ? Vodaphone drops off about 30km off the coast anyone know if they can hold coverage with their mobile oout that far?

Thanks !

If you're really keen you just get a car-kit and put a whopping antenna on it.

It's a bad policy to think you can use your mobile phone as a means of boat communication.....Use marine radios, and log on to Sea rescue.

Closer to Rotto you are the better they work. I assume they have a repeater station on there but not sure.

BQ544 I know I have VHF and 27meg so I am aware what however if u have a massive electrical short on the boat and no radio ? out at the bank ? the only choise then would be flares/EPIRB ... I would rather have a cheap 3g Next gen from telstra that will allow me to call somone then sit there hoping for vodaphone to come online.

Is the hillarys fad behind rotto ?
