Hi Ca11um, just wondering brand of gun you use and why you chose that particular one. I'm looking to upgrade so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thats a "custom" gun my brother, father and i made. Its a 1m Esclapez handle and muzzle and then an ali barrel. The other gun that i shot the skippy with was a Pelaj Spekter 1.3, looking to upgrade that though soon.

It all really depends on your price range mate as to what you want to buy.

Hi ca11um

Thanks for the info.

I picked up a near new Freedivers 1100 last Saturday from a fellow FW member. Keen to try it out this weekend at the Abrolhos.

Haha, lucky i didnt buy it then!! Seen that as well, was tempting, but glad it went to another diver who would use it more :) Great guns though, match it up to a nice reel like a Paxman reel and you can shoot pretty much anything around that area!!

Old gun

Mon, 2013-01-21 21:04

I'd like to 'renovate' my old wooden gun with a new trigger assembly, spear, etc. as I've had it over 30 years...was passed onto me from a good friend who wasn't diving any more.  Both guns are the same length but either of them can have a second rubber added for more oomph.

Any ideas on the best place to buy the parts I'd need, thanks.

I would probably say Adreno mate, best range. Dont know much about doing up older guns really, but adreno would be a good place to start for parts i would imagine
