I heard the forecast
I heard the forecast was for wind wind and more wind, most of it coming from the fella's backsides though. Got some sensational afternoon's forecast up here, just shizen house mornings.
Have a great time Andy, hope you manage to get into a few. :)
Cheers,
Adam

charter
have been on a charter a number of years ago.... did the overnight thing and i and everyone else on board(9 of us all up) thought it was a fantastic weekend... had an awesome saturday with many differentspecies caught. once anchored for the night i put out a balloon to a reef about 80 meteres away and it didnt take long for a bloody good hookup(which busted off). that happened a couple of times but in the mean time we used light gear(4-8lb) on the gravely bottom and had some fun on some good size pinkies. even had a nice cobia come to the back of the boat wanting a feed....
just get out there and have an awesome time i say... i'm getting itchy feet just knowing that a number of guys from here are going to spend a couple of weeks away up there.... i'm the verge of telling the boss "im outta here see ya when i get back"

Have done the trip in June
Have done the trip in June last year. Own boat and stayed on the North island. Departed from Port Gregory. About 65km run across in ordinary weather took us 2 1/2hrs to get there. Same trip home took 3 1/2 hrs in 3mtr seas and 25knt winds. Check the weather. Stayed for 4 days on the island. We fished blind and with the weather blowing all week we stayed in close to the island. Caught plenty of snapper, baldies, NW snapper and dhuies. Only realy had 1 good day where we went out the back and managed some good dhuies to 10kg and pinkies in the hundreds with red throat everywhere. Have been told there is some great fishing about 30nm north but due to the weather didn't get up there. Tapout and Spess went for a dive and shot 2 spanish macks and saw baldies and snapper everywhere. This all 100-300mtrs off the island. If you do take your own boat make sure your well equipped. We were lucky that we had someone on the island to stay with but if staying on the boat make sure you have enough supplies cause when the weather turns it can be hard to get home.

You get yourself involved in some awesome trips Andy. Sounds like you will be having a ball.
Paul, from memory, October can get fairly windy up that way. You might have to check the past weather records.

Abrolhos
Paul G,
Not sure if you regularly read or buy the magazine but this month I have written an article on my trip to the Abrolhos from Easte4r this year. If I had the choice of taking my own boat or going with a charter I would choose the charter, for a couple of reasons.
1. Everything is already supplied incl hot showers, 3 main meals a day, toilets ect.
2. You can kick back and have a few beers and not have to worry about being the skipper.
3. they have already done the hard work of finding the good fishing spots, saves you driving around blindly.
4. Good way to meet fellow fisho's and share a few laughs and stories.
Just my opinion, either your own boat or charter it will still be one of the best fishing trips of your life. I loved it that much, I am already planning next years trip.

wx check
get on bouywx paul and check the wx for jurien north. june is usually pretty nice w light northly winds and a bit of swell. you can anchor at the wallabies near pidgeon island. fm there its an easy run out west through the passage out past west wallaby island to fishing heaven! about 2mile west to nw of west wallaby there is some hell ground but watch out when theres swell cos it breaks through there. dont worry bout the deep too much the shallow water is just as good but if your keen the shelf is only 2mile out fm there and some great fishing to be found. enjoy m8!

sorry Paul, it would help if
Dean,
I went there for 4 days with Jazz II charters. They normally only do river cruises and rotto trips in perth cos our waters here are so fished out and they make more money doing 2 river cruises a day instead of 1 fishing trip. But when it came to fishing the Abrolhos the skipper Neil put us onto some awesome ground. He's an owner operator so he takes great pride in making sure everyone is happy.
We even went swimming with seals, free diving, trawling ect. They are awesome guys who let you choose what ever you want to do for the day. I am already planning another trip with them again for next easter.
