Firearms at sea?

Hi guys,

Not sure if its been covered here before, but I couldn't find anything with search- Just wondering if anyone here can shed some light on the legalities of having (legally owned) firearms at sea? As far as I know its not illegal to have them at sea, but was wondering how you'd go if you got stopped by fisheries at the ramp or po po and they saw a gun case sitting in the cabin of the boat?

Cheers!

Some places such as the Abrolhos you are not permitted to carry any firearms aboard.

As far as I know, anywhere else is ok.
We always carried a shotgun and a rifle aboard when I was fishing, but that was 12 yrs back.
You could take them in checked luggage without question then also which has changed now but thats an airline thing not a law.
