I got the Spindrift with a 6hp outboard and an electric motor on the bow. Absolute beast fishing the Guildford snags or working the Peel flats.

You get pretty wet if it's choppy though.

I had one with a 8hp on the back but sold it pretty quick . With only myself on board and giving it WoT i was getting the watef funneling between the pontoons hitting the motor leg and building up till it started coming over the transom into the boat . With a bit of messing around and adjustments maybe i could have stopped it but couldnt be bothered

On my own I can get her up to around 13knots but with my brother in we max out at 6 knots which is no worries for the upper Swan but I'm replacing my carby with the 8hp one for when we head to Pt Grey from Dawesville.

Bought a new 6hp Tohatsu 2 banger.

The dinghy is plated for 6hp and the only different between the two motors (6&8hp) is the carby.
