Well the time is finally here again for the annual pilgrammage to Exmouth!
We depart this arvo for 2 weeks of fishing, diving and spearing so hopefully should get some good vid and photos of all that happens :)
Anyone else up there give Adam or myself a buzz and we will have to catch up for a few
Have fun folks and folklets

Hmmm
Yes, I know that dilemma quite well. Will buzz Stevo later and see whats been on the go. Got the new moon on the Sunday so will be interesting to see if the surface is on or not. Either way, I'm not fussy. :)

On the surface is very quiet. Didn't turn a reel on wed and neither did a mate in his boat. Bottom fished from 70mtrs in to 20 mtrs and the fish seem to be shut down. Managed a cobia around 10-12kg which took a small emporer i hooked in 20mtrs of water.
The gulf is still very dirty as is the west side. Will see what happens sun as its prob the first decent day since the rain.
Enjoy the drive boys and will catch you when you get up here.

Spoke with Adam Sunday and they hope to get through today. They have been stuck in carnarvon since sat. The waters were still rising sunday lunchtime. Best to check with main roads first before leaving Perth

Canarvon-manilya road has been re-opened, but manilya-coral bay is still shut and could be for a few days.
Apparently the lyndon river crossing is up around 2 metres. Will have to take the burket road in.

Sigh
Got into Exmouth today (Monday) at 1pm after leaving 7pm Friday night. :( 2 days in Canarvon with perfect weather was rather frustrating! Got some good video footage of the flood waters.
We managed to get out this arvo and got 7 rankin cod, 4 spanglies, 1 dark tailed sea perch a few trevally and a couple of other ooglies which sort of made up for the 2 day kick about!

How long did it take you from minilya to emouth? Is it worth packing extra fuel?
hoping to do it in 16 hrs with a boat. Is it still possible?

Mission
Doing another run and stun mission are you Dumper.
Good luck, they seem to work out for you pretty well. Weather seems to be moving into a stable pattern at the moment (about time to).

Coral Bay/Exmouth
Just had a mate return from Coral Bay - he left Coral Bay Saturday morning 0600 and got home to Hillaries Sunday arvo - wasnt a pretty trip and he lost count of the floodways he crossed and many hrs spent on the road waiting for waters to drop and in some cases getting through before it rose any further.
