Dud of a storm

After checking out the weather information for the past week and watching the predictions for a big blow to hit Perth today - I was preparing to head down to North Mole this afternoon in the hope that there might be some snapper action. Looks like it has turned out to be a bit of dud, so I think I will try some of new soft plastics down at Hillarys.
Anyone planning to hit the Mole today?
All the best, Colin Hay

Seabreeze says tomorrow will

Thu, 2008-05-22 13:48

Seabreeze says tomorrow will be a bit windier with more swell to knock those tasty (to snapper) crabs off for the tastier snapper (to me :D).

Got the option to take the arvo off work (and just work at night), but was thinking it would be a bit too windy to chuck plastics around? Though, metals might work, and might be some tailor hanging around?

Well I opened my big mouth too soon

Thu, 2008-05-22 21:18

Decided to head up to Hillarys hoping that the bit of inclement weather might have stirred up some action.
Almost got blown off the rocks by some the heavy squalls that came through.
Hardly got a bite - but had a good chat about fishing with a cool Irish dude.

Hi Ya, Thought the same

Thu, 2008-05-22 22:23

Hi Ya,

Thought the same Colin 2 about a dud storm.  Was actually looking forward to it but heard absolutely nothing here (Booka).  But a woman I work with said the same as Alfred & she's also in Ocean Reef.  Seems you had to be in the right spot.

Cheers.

Was just out the back watching the waves crash over the top of the south wall at Hillarys, when the whole suburb disappeared in a wall of rain.

Fri, 2008-05-23 11:14

According to BOM it was blowing about 40 knotts at Ocean Reef (and I assume Hillarys).

Good if you can miss the goats, kangaroos and cattle

Fri, 2008-05-23 12:46

that seem to congregate around Carnarvon at night.
