Denham Fishing

Hey all.

Heading off to our long planned 10 night Denham trip with the kids and the weather forecast so far is looking farked with a few small windows so might just be me and my oldest boy heading out in the bay and braving the 10-12kn winds for a quick raid those days as he's been dreaming of this trip and fishing there for 6 months.

I've had a look at the chart and I like this area as we can belt out there and get home relatively quickly if it blows up. Am I in the ballpark for a decent area to start sounding around?

Cheers JF

Dropping the boat in at monkey mia is an option

if its blowing strong in the main bay area you highlighted. We had to do just that on a recent trip. Pulled a few mid size deep divers north along the drop offs for a few small tuna and saw several good surface bust-ups in the distance around us. I was surprised at how many bottom fish and structures i was seeng as we trolled but we didnt bottom fish. Its only about 20k's to pull the boat there cheers

I'm in Denham now, been bit windy. I haven't bothered getting the boat out, but still plenty of boats getting out. That area you marked looks ok to me.

Good place to drop a line, usually pick up black snapper there with a few pinkies.

Just look out for the Catfish that have moved into Monkey Mia.

They were in plague proportions when we were there in April.

Just make sure they are returned in a "not so healthy" condition.

They are devistating the local fish population.

I didn't say that......
