Cobbler

Hey guys ive seen a fair few cobbler around lately and i was told that they were a protected species but then i saw photos of people catching and keeping cobbler on this site and was just wondering are they a protected or not?

sure they are protected in
sure they are protected in the swan and canning rivers, but not sure about other locations. check the fisheries website.

cobbler ok
you can take cobbler in the mandurah estuary system,however they are subject to a size limit and a maximium bag limit of 4 don't remember size limit the big fat cobbler that are oftern seen are the females and they are full of eggs at this time of the year,limit your catch not catch your limit worth remembering with this fish

Seen a huge one the other day in east freo whilst breamin, must have been a meter or more, was cursing the ban cuz i love chompin the buggers! Quite a few were around they like the burley!
