Caught a few tailor this morning on the Ski.

Went out to the reefs at Garden Island this morning, heaps of seaweed around, which made it a bit difficult trolling close to the reefs, but still managed to get dinner for tonight.

The waxwing was working okay.

 Well done Moking!

Whats your secret weapon & how far behind the ski do you tow it?

Havent cracked the tailor code down here yet, but the ski is going good, especially love it on the shallow flats.  I've also had the odd 50 k trip along the coast, weather permitting. Got to get off my ass & get out there earlier in the morning! No prize catches yet, but plenty of bread & butter. With autumn approaching the condition are only going to get better.

Cheers

 Hello John-Good to see that

Hello John-Good to see that you are enjoying the Jetski fishing-when you need someone to join you on the next 50k trip along the coast on your Ski, then give me a ring!  I'd love to explore that part of the Coast.

Secrets: I use the Blue Sardine Waxwing 68m or 88m,cast it out behind the Ski,and troll at appox 5/6 kph. But then again, when Beau is out with me on his Ski,he uses the popper's over the reefs, and has just as much fun and success.

I'm going to be on the shallow sandbanks tomorrow, hopefully catching some nice plump whiting.

 Tried cracking the tailor

Sun, 2013-01-27 08:32

Tried cracking the tailor code early yesterday morning along Blue Holes beach, no tailor, but got some nice bonito up to 580 mm. Got to watch out for those breakers though, can be a bit tricky! No way I could do that on th yak, the ski is great, best day out yet, gaining more confidence/ experience. Did a bit of exploring close in around the islands.
