Advice on Prawning Light setup?

Hi Guys,

I'm interested in giving the prawning ago from the boat this season, have a pretty good idea of the places to try in the Swan River and down at Mandurah but was just wondering if anyone had any advice or suggestions for a good lighting set up to run off both sides of the boat?

Cheers

Paul

get some 4x4 LED spotlights ! - low current draw; and easy mounting points off a pole or similar - pump out some serious light in close range

Cheers for that Dan,

My boat has a hard top, and I was thinking of mounting them off the sides to be able to poit them downward or forward the 4x4 LED's could be the go then,

Thanks

head lamps... all you need. wide beam, works best because you can move the light with where your looking.

Underwater

Years ago, we always used underwater lights....avoids the reflection.  We used to wire up a brake/tail light globe together then selastic into a piece of PVC.  You can dunk this underwater and it doesn't break.  Of course, LED's are all the rage now and I'm sure would be better, but I havenlt tried them underwater.

been doing this with my dad

been doing this with my dad since l was 10, started with gas lanterns with alfoil coving half the lense, then moved to scan lights that had a wide beam. to this day still using a similar setup. in the 28 years lve been prawning theres been plenty of good lighting systems people use , lately the underwater leds being the best.

You can never have enough light, dont let anyone tell you other wise.
