Never heard open her up and have a look at her internals, I've seen some cheap reels with plastic gears and paper drag washers.

if they are metal and carbontex like washers, give it a go.

good luck and it coulkd of been a great find.

looks like someone has got a Penn Inter and copied it - too the tee! - ad says it has brass gearing and stainless ball bearings - noting about the drag washers - prob used plastic-, there is a ridged dial/knob on the inside (looks like it may be on the outside on this one)of the lever drag that is (should be) used to adjust the drag on the lever
ultimately you tend to get what you pay for - reckon it will be ok for light work - but you will be getting some practice in at the local park on your casting! (thats not a casting "style" overhead)
