Released this queenie

A quick photo then back in the drink for this one (18/3/06). I rarely keep a queenie unless we haven't got anything on board at all and its nearing home time. I find the flesh to be too bloody and not a nice taste. Besides when you have too much fish in the freezer why kill something if you are not going to eat it.

What a dilemma...............too much fish in the freezer:-0

What can I say???
Deefa,
I have been a lucky boy of late with several large Dhuie captures, plus the usual assortment of prime table fodder. A man can only eat so much fish, especially when the wife and kids only like it once or twice a week and I want to go fishing more than that if I can.
The extended family have scored big time recently. Looks like I will have to give a fair bit more away to a good home otherwise I won't be able to fishing until it is used up.
Dilemmas, dillemmas, gotta love it.

Hey Andy
If ya giving it away , mine is a good home mate............... hehehehe :-)
I've noticed ya posts/threads in other forums, and agree, yep, you have been having a good time of it of late eh..!!??

Queen Snappers
Can't say that I rate queen snapper too highly either. Not bad in a curry or with some spices, but apart from that its a bit average. We always cut those red bloody bits off, which loses a fair chunk of flesh.
Such a terrible situation Andy! I really feel for you.. hhehehe :)

We bleed them
Definitely up there in the "neighbours fish" stakes are the queen snapper. As Adam will testify when bled and placed in an ice slurry immediately they are not a bad feed if the blood line running from the top of the head and down the pin bone line are removed
BTW just had a feed of fresh dolli with english spinich smothered with a bulsamic and honey dressing. They are definitely up there in my top 10 list now!!
