Today's Skippy on Jig

Probably the smallest skippy of the morning, but I landed it on a jig so figured it was worth a photo, the next 3 I landed were twice the size, but it still shows that even the little jigs work well.

While we are all working, you are out fishing again. That's just not fair!
Is that hook off the top of the jig, just like on the knife jigs? Is it an Owner hook or just a little rig you made up yourself?

Jig and Salmon
Yep and out there again tomorrow too. Searched all the way along the beach today, couldn't find any salmon anywhere, hope they haven't moved on. Will give Rotto a bash tomorrow to see what the story is.
Yeh, thats just like the knife jigs, just a really really small version with a mini owner hook with nylon to the split ring. Gribbo made it up for me and threw it in with my bag of goodies, thought I'd give it a try today seeing as the echo sounder was pretty much blacked out with skips.
Ended up getting buried by sambo's twice on the light stuff and released about 100 skippy and took 12 of the bigger ones.

Work
Nup, got another week off as well. :) So if anyone needs a deckie between now and next Sunday, let me know and I'll be there in a heartbeat. :)
I'm still suprised at the success rate of jigs, I really just put it down for a bit of fun, before it got even anywhere near the bottom it was smashed by the skips. I like that sort of fishing!
