ABALONE BY BOAT

Can anyone tell me whether the 1 hour rule for collecting ab's applies if you are around the back of the islands and will be landing them by boat!

Found that out yesterday too Matty. Apparently the Fisheries boat was out patroling the islands in the morning, and kept a good eye on GI.

matt
well, i got mine at one of the islands too - but I think if thats solely your target, there are a number of onshore spots that can produce just as well.
Didnt find a big difference in size where I went anyways. Mate of mine got his onshore and some of them were up in the 90mm apparently... saw some feelers sticking out too
Only 12 more days...

Just ring fishwatch and leave a message.
Some a$$hats were getting out of the water at Pt Peron last week with a few times the bag limit each. We thought the first guy was carrying the other two's bags, but then they got out of the water with the same each!

abalone
I'm going to put my neck on the line here, but I think its safe to assume the abalone you get around Perth, off exposed reefs if you ae wading are all Roes.
In your brochure it will say that Green and Brownlips prefer depths of 5m or more. I have only seen maybe 1 or 2 Brownlips around Perth - they look really different.

I thought the season for catching closed at 8 - not meant landed by 8.
